Hi, your wireless adapter issues seem linked to driver compatibility and version mismatches. The latest drivers on the TPLINK site are from 2017, while your hardware is from 2019. Updating drivers might help, but since the software version doesn’t match, try reinstalling the driver or checking for firmware updates directly from the manufacturer’s site. If the problem persists after these steps, consider replacing the adapter.

How close is the device to the Wi-Fi source? Are there any obstacles like walls or floors affecting the signal? What model does your Wi-Fi gateway or router have? Are other gadgets showing the same issue at this spot? Since it's a USB adapter, have you tested another port or moved it onto an extension? These adapters usually have weak reception and may need adjustment in orientation or placement for better performance. Consider running a wireless survey (such as WiFi Analyzer) on the affected computer and share the spectrum graph.

There's one wall between the adapter and the router, the router is a Toto-link. I tried different usb ports and it has the same problem. I'm going to get the free wifi analyser on microsoft store. What does this mean? Must I switch to channel 3? Edited February 18, 2023 by WackySpace

And how far is it? The wall material likely affects the signal strength. Are there any large electronic devices nearby, such as a refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, or microwave? Any specific model? For reference, I’m using the WiFi Analyzer app from the Microsoft Store. Run it on your computer with the adapter connected; other devices like smartphones may provide better results due to stronger antennas. The screenshot only shows that your signal isn’t extremely weak, but it doesn’t let us determine the best channel or make any definitive choices. The chart displays two main points: the strength of your detected signal and the level of network activity around you.
