I plan to install a LAN soon and everything seems ready. The router includes a USB port, so I was thinking about connecting my phone directly via USB to get internet. With a speed around 30Mbps, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I don’t have a cellular modem because my main plan only works with my phone, and I sometimes get calls. Installing a new SIM each time is inconvenient. Any suggestions would be great!

Usually you can't connect via USB here. I've handled this before by converting the device into a hotspot, then using a laptop or desktop to create a wired network for the router.

The support for this scenario varies by router. My Synology Rt2600AC can handle USB LTE devices, but not every router does. You’ll need to locate a compatible one.

The USB port on the router isn't meant for this connection and won't function properly. Suitable services like SMB and FTP should be used instead. Even if possible, the router's processor wouldn't handle the task effectively. Clarification: your phone in tether mode to LTE differs from using an LTE modem via USB.

You connected the phone to the router through USB and linked the network cable (CAT5e) to your computer, and the internet was working. This setup should work for you with your router.

I connected the phone to the computer, which provided internet access. I enabled network sharing on the laptop and connected its Ethernet port to the router's WAN port. It should function with any router.

is there any special name for it? these are the specs of the router i have been thinking to buy... this says the data rate is 867Mbps, and something i doesn't know about for interface (will i be able to use WAN ports in my LAN) - so wont that be a problem for getting 1gigabit transfer speeds to my storage pc? here is the website for more info... : https://prolink2u.com/product/prc3801/

Sure! That makes sense. A PC must be turned on in that situation, correct? Thanks again!

Yes, the computer must be active for this to function properly.

The promotional content will highlight its compatibility with 4G or LTE networks.
