Hello, I have a few questions. Should I expect a different format for my external drives if I connect them to a dual-boot system with both Windows and Linux? Would using an NTFS external drive between the two cause any issues, or is it straightforward? Are there similar processes in Linux that create .ds_store files like on MacOSX? Thank you for taking the time to read this—I really value your assistance! And a big thank you to the community for being so supportive.

Id use ntfs. It has the best support on both. These is no .ds_store or simmilar on windows or linux. It will work fine, you just can execture easily on ntfs on linux.

It should function, you just need to test it using a thumb drive.

I haven’t faced any problems linking drives from Windows to Linux. I’m not familiar with the ".ds_store" files.

NTFS and exFAT stand out as top options. NTFS functions smoothly across Windows and Linux without issues. exFAT also works, though it has file size restrictions, and it supports macOS and other platforms as well.
