Link the router's wan port to the phone's hotspot. If not included, use a device that converts the hotspot into an Ethernet signal.

If you have a phone with a micro USB port and a Type C port, you can use one device for the micro USB and another for the Type C. You can connect both to your router via USB tethering. With a 40Mbps connection, a 100Mbps adapter should work fine.

If your phone supports it, it could function, though results vary by device. Using a cellular modem usually provides better performance. See the guide at https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi...ems/lb1120 for more details.

The router I plan to purchase includes a USB port. If I connect this cable, will the USB hotspot switch work so I can access the internet?

If the router and phone support RNDIS, then there might be an issue. Using a phone for this could affect internet sharing, which isn't meant to stay active continuously. The phone's battery might drain if the router can't supply enough power. Internet sharing sometimes shuts down at intervals. Your phone agreement may prohibit tethering, leading to contract cancellation or charges. Dedicated 4/5G routers usually offer stronger signals because they use larger antennas.

If you enable a package, switch off the SIM card, and link it via a cellular modem, what happens?

Same problem arises since it relies on whether the router can use a cellular modem either through RNDIS or serial settings.

You can upgrade from RNDIS (common on most Android devices) to Ethernet and connect via a router's WAN port. It might not be perfect, but it should function.
