I recently purchased a wired 360 controller for my PC. Would it fail if left plugged in continuously, such as during 8–10 hours of daily use? My thoughts are on whether keeping it powered all the time could cause issues. Should I only connect it when necessary?

If it doesn’t interfere with your plans, leaving it should be fine. I don’t see any risk involved.

You prefer not to overheat it by keeping it connected continuously.

They remain connected to consoles around the clock, and I’m not sure it will cause any problems. The LED staying on all the time probably isn’t a big issue, though I don’t think it’s a major concern. I’ve noticed some projects where the controller uses cable management, so it seems unlikely they’d unplug it each time.

Consider unplugging everything when not in use. Maybe the controller should go too.

The device has been connected for four months. Before that, it stopped working (it got a bit upset) and stayed on for about a year. It's okay to keep them.
