It's well understood that cellular companies in the US can and will limit high-speed or data-heavy traffic. Most offer a limited amount of data before throttling occurs. T Mobile, for example, provides around 20 gigabits. Cellular providers don't plan to encourage you to use hotspot or data roaming for home internet—it's just part of the service.

They'll understand eventually. As you gather more information, they'll analyze it and respond accordingly—either by increasing pressure or removing you from the platform. They've handled similar situations before.
