Connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to the PC's PCI Half Mini port on your desktop.
Hey everyone! I'm trying to get an old Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card to function on my Windows 10 PC. I have a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG from a laptop that's been sitting unused for a while. The adapter I got is a PCI half mini to PCIe 1x, and it’s working fine for the Wi-Fi part, but not for Bluetooth. Someone mentioned that PCIe 1x only supports one device at a time—like just Wi-Fi. The Bluetooth needs to be connected via USB, but my adapter doesn’t have a USB port. I’m wondering if it’s possible to modify the adapter so I can plug in a male USB cable directly into the PCI half mini connector, then use a female-to-male USB extension cord to reach any available USB ports on the motherboard. Ideally, I’d just buy a full adapter or a ready-made solution for desktops. If that’s not feasible, I’d connect the USB internally after the adapter. Thanks in advance for any advice!
The information provided is incorrect. You haven't installed the BT software and drivers. I've connected one to an older motherboard without any problems... your issue must be elsewhere.
