You're dealing with a tricky setup. It seems the GPU and motherboard graphics aren't compatible with the PSU connectors you're using. The 300-watt PSU and the 2070 Super likely require different power configurations than what your current setup supports. You might need a dual PSU adapter with more pins or a different power distribution method to ensure stability and compatibility.

This seems like a potential fire risk. Avoid doing this. Opt for a better single power supply instead of damaging your home. You should switch to a CPU and thermal management issue, not just overheat the system.

That sounds intense, but it seems like you're getting ready for a big shift in your gaming setup. You're moving to the old Dell and planning to start mining, which is a solid move since it offers enough slots. The 2070 was your top choice for testing before diving into the next step.

It seems unlikely in that setup. You might switch from the original HP power supply to a new PSU paired with an adapter, changing from 24-pin to HP Custom connectors, and then supply the GPU through the updated PSU.

I also struggle to find a superior single power supply because the HP motherboard requires these unusual power connectors.

It's unclear if it failed. You didn't help in any way.

It wasn't clear, but the GPU appeared normal—no overheating and no odor of smoke.

I would have liked to know that earlier, I just spotted the precise connector.

I guess I almost missed something, but when both PSUs were connected, the one with the plug in probably had built-in protection for devices without a 24-pin connector, or I just turned off the power supply. Either way, I’m really happy my 2070 is working.

Psu's focus isn't on pushing power; components handle it.
