I have a project for class where I need to install Android on phones running Android 4.0. I also want to download WhatsApp and set up communication with something. After installing, it doesn’t recognize the connection from my host machine. I switched to NAT and bridged the connection, but it still can’t find the network. In the logs, it shows the motherboard connector is recognized, but nothing about my actual network. I’m really stuck and would appreciate your help.

What operating system is your host running? Are you connected via Android Studio? Do you have a wireless or wired Ethernet connection? Sometimes fixing the gateway or DNS can resolve the issue.

Wired Ethernet setup is working, but adding directions manually in VMware isn't resolving the issue.

This indicates a DNS issue. You can update the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8.
