Hey Tom, just got a new router and moved it to the drawer. I thought about using it as a network switch since I heard you could repurpose it. You mentioned you're using a virgin media superhub, which is great. The main issue is that your hub only has coaxial inputs but four Ethernet outputs. I was wondering if you could convert one of the outputs to an input and then have three outputs for different devices. Let me know!

It won't function due to COAX. Unmanaged switches under £20 are available on Amazon.

It functions when you disable DHCP. You may also wish to turn off WiFi. After that, those four ports can be treated like any regular switch (skip the COAX).

Yes, it should function properly. You may also set it up as an AP. Just turn off DHCP and likely disable the device's own IP address so it receives its IP from the main router.
