Confusion uplay on Steam for Watch Dogs

A bit of confusion over game platforms: - So recently I got watch dogs for free on uplay - Now I want to buy the DLC - I can get just the DLC on uplay for 20$, but can get the DLC and game on steam for 20$ - I would rather have the game on steam so since it is the same price I will buy it there - I recently realized that when you buy the game on steam, it opens the uplay launcher to open the game - Since I already have the game in my account, how would this work? Thanks

I plan to, though purchasing it on Steam causes it to launch through the Uplay launcher, leading to some confusion, as mentioned in the previous post.

There's no advantage to buying either one, unless you just want your friends on steam to be able to see what you're playing. If you but any Ubisoft game on steam, you still need to use Uplay. There's no right answer to your question

It will either install the DLC directly onto your copy via UPLAY or create two separate copies.
