The relationship isn't exactly 1 MHz equals 6000 MT/s. It depends on the conversion factor used. For example, if you multiply MHz by 3,600, you get MT/s. So 3000 MHz would be about 10.8 MT/s, not a direct match. Clarify the conversion method you're using!

The mix-up comes from intel's 14500 blog. They mention the I5 14500 supports up to 4800 MT/s DDR5 RAM, which led me to think pairing it with 6000MH/z units. Let me know if you need further clarification.

This means a 6000CL30 chip operates at roughly 6000 MT/s, but due to its double data rate, it handles two transfers per clock cycle. So the actual performance is closer to 6000 MT/s at around 3000 MHz. Companies sometimes misstate the frequency as 6000 MHz, which is misleading since it doesn't match the real speed. If the advertised rate is 6000 MT/s, then it should be running at about 12000 MT/s or similar, depending on the actual timing. Generally, manufacturers list 4800 MT/s as the maximum JEDEC timing, but overclocking to higher speeds like 6000 is possible and expected.
