Confusing information about MP3 metadata.
Confusing information about MP3 metadata.
I'm struggling with my MP3 files. The metadata—artist, title, album art—is appearing distorted on my mobile device. Most of the information seems incorrect; for example, the album art is completely mixed up. Many tracks display a generic "Camp Rock" cover even though they don’t belong to that collection. I need a quick and effective solution for this issue. Jaikoz is assisting with the metadata, but Mp3tag isn’t helpful because it requires manual work. What program can I use to properly add or apply album art?
Currently not available on Windows, though Winamp supports auto-tagging. It can fetch album arts, but it's unclear if auto-tagging was handled automatically. Typically the process is "Select all → Send to > Auto-Tag." Avoid applying this to the whole collection—might cause significant issues.
You can automatically fetch album artwork for your tracks using available iTunes sources, and it’s also simple to select a group of songs, right-click, and manually add metadata.
MP3Tag, Foobar for refining tags. I’m not sure how you structured them as files, but to tackle the album art issue, they should be in separate folders—naming them either album, artist, or cover.jpg for each track inside. For tag issues on mobile, I’ve faced the same problem with certain tracks. The reason is that some tags rely on variables mobile can’t interpret, causing playback to use a placeholder like <unknown> instead of the expected name.
