Hi and thanks
I'm searching for a high-performance laptop suitable for gaming, music production, and more. Right now in Denmark there are several offers on the MSI GP66 Leopard.
But it feels overwhelming to pick among different versions of the same machine, with prices varying so much. I’m confused about what exactly sets them apart.
For example, I’m comparing these four options:
-11UH-237 for 14.999 dkk (2014 eur) – [link](https://bit.ly/3ooSscm)
-11UH-09 for 18.499 dkk (2485 eur) – [link](https://sharkgaming.dk/msi-gp66-leopard-11uh-091neu)
-11uh-091neu for 17.335 dkk (2328 eur) – [link](https://bit.ly/34BvE1W)
-11uh-226neu for 13.999 dkk (1880 eur) – [link](https://bit.ly/3ur8qWY)

The only noticeable technical difference is that the last one has a base clock speed of 1.9 GHz, while the others have 2.3 GHz.
Otherwise, they all appear to share similar specifications, such as:
- Intel® Core™ i7-11800H with boost speed 4.6 GHz
- 16 GB DDR RAM
- RTX 3080
- 1 TB SSD
...and so on.

None of the local dealers seem able to clearly explain the actual differences, and I suspect they might be trying to push sales.
My questions are:
Why are there such large price gaps? (I suppose the saying 'you get what you pay for' still applies...) I’d like to know exactly what I’m getting for my money.
Is the gap between a base clock of 1.9 GHz and 2.3 GHz worth that much? In other words, is a 672 EUR difference really meaningful?
And if I had to choose, what would you pick?
Thanks a lot
Simon

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
None of the local dealers can really clarify the real difference for me, and I think they might be biased or focused on selling.
They usually are, but sometimes you have to realize they might just be confused, with an attitude for someone who doesn’t need to know so much—just a laptop, man!
If you check here:
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...18...0-ghz.html
You’ll notice the Configurable TDP-down Base Frequency for the processor is 1.9GHz. So everything matches, even the panel specs and refresh rates. Unless they’re intentionally misleading customers. I suspect some shops might charge more than others.

If you were me, I’d pick a Mac for music production. For everything else, Windows would be better.

Thank you for your question. I’m still trying to understand how the TDP functions. Is it a fixed value, or does it range between 1.9 and 2.3? If the latter, then it appears that the dealer with the 1.9 setting lists it as such in the specifications instead of 2.3. Could it be that different models, like the 11800H-237 and 11800H-091, have varying pre-adjusted TDP settings, which might explain the price differences?
