I attempted to configure a VM for Ubuntu on Windows 8.1 using Virtual Box, but the display settings are not working correctly. For an Intel or NVIDIA GPU laptop, you may need to install the appropriate drivers before proceeding.

Activate Press Control+D to add the VirtualBox Guest Additions ISO into the VM. VirtualBox mimics a GPU, and its drivers are part of the installation.
