Configuring the BIOS settings
Configuring the BIOS settings
Hey everyone, just wrapped up my first build. It took a while getting everything aligned. The CPU fan setup was a nightmare—I ended up flipping the lock just to get it right. Specs: AMD 6300 CPU, Thermaltake NiC C5 cooler, Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 RAM (2x4GB), Corsair Vengeance GPU, and a 650W Thermaltake Smart PSU. It went all the way to 700+ watts, which would have been cheaper if I’d bought everything online, but I went with what was available right now. I’m really excited about the GPU, though—I’ll switch it later this week and return the card. The BIOS is a bit tricky; should I follow that tutorial or just leave it alone? My CPU fan is super loud even at 300 RPM in silent mode, and it still rattles. Any tips would be great!
Connect it to the CPU_FAN header and it will adjust the speed according to temperature. Or install fan control software with the motherboard.
Don't rely solely on the guide. Misunderstanding settings can lead to more issues. In BIOS, only the boot order needs attention; other adjustments can be made later. You can configure the CPU fan through BIOS or software, but setting it up is not urgent for beginners.
