I purchased a new build and require assistance with BIOS configurations. When I left everything on auto, the CPU overheated rapidly—reaching 88-90°C—and games would crash. System specs include an i5-11400 with stock cooler B560M, AORUS Pro motherboard, 32GB DDR4 at 3200MHz RAM, RTX 3060, Gigabyte OC gaming power supply, and a 650W ATX unit.

It seems the default configuration might be causing problems, but it shouldn't crash there. You're curious about the CPU temperature since that's what's likely affecting performance. Also, whether it was prebuilt or custom-built matters for troubleshooting.

the crashes occurred when the cpu hit 88-90 degrees each time. I adjusted the clock speed to 42 and then the issues appeared at 80 degrees. I understand the stock cooler isn’t very effective, but I read somewhere it can manage the workload for a while. This computer wasn’t prebuilt, and I didn’t assemble it myself.

Did you take off the tag from the cooler? What amount of paste was applied? Which model is it? How many case fans are there? Have you refreshed your profile information?

Apologies for the delayed reply. I restored Windows from the beginning with the standard BIOS, and the system is now stable. The CPU is still warm slightly, which is due to the default cooler. Thank you for your assistance.
