I just purchased a Samsung 850 EVO and it's brand new. I want to configure it as the boot drive without connecting my optical drive, using my physical Windows installation instead. How can I set this up?

Have you set up a hard drive running Windows yet?

It seems you're proceeding with a standard setup. Just pick the SSD for Windows installation instead of the HDD, avoid using the original drive, use a power ISO, create an ISO file, and boot from a USB drive.

Gather the Windows ISO file and follow a tool such as Ruckus to create a bootable USB. Insert the drive, start the installation process, and complete the setup.

Thanks for checking the NCIX file—it didn’t provide much assistance. I haven’t seen it before.

This doesn't assist since I don't wish to duplicate my entire storage and I lack an external case.

Yes, you can mount an SSD and connect an HDD during Windows operation.
