Hello everyone, welcome! I'm new here and looking for assistance with my current setup. I'm using an Arris Surfboard Modem, a Netgear Tomahawk Router, and an Ubiquiti 24-port POE switch. I'm trying to connect the switch to my network via the desktop app in the browser. When adding a device, nothing appears. My patch cable goes from the router's port 1 to the switch, and another from the switch (port 2) to my computer, but the app doesn't recognize the switch. I purchased the switch refurbished from B&H Photo, so maybe it's defective. I also attempted device discovery through Ubiquiti, but the Chrome file returns a 404 error and the Java download shows confusing code. Could anyone help me resolve this? Thanks!

I've encountered this problem before. The desktop app struggles to recognize new devices. Connect via SSH into the switch and run a command for your controller. https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/20...on-Layer-3 Typically, you'll need to install Putty to SSH in. The default credentials are usually user:ubnt with password:ubnt. Locate the switch's IP in the touchscreen settings. Launch Putty, enter the switch's IP and click connect, then use your login details. When prompted, type the controller's IP address: http://ip-of-host:8080/inform.
