I possess a Windows 10 Pro system with multiple SSDs available. I’m considering moving Kubuntu to an SSD and have a plan: disconnect the old drives, connect the SSD, set up Linux, power down, restart, and adjust the BIOS to choose the bootloader. Does this approach function as intended? Will either operating system recognize the other and automatically include it in the bootloader? I’m open to using Grub or another Linux bootloader, but I don’t want to accidentally install on the wrong drive and lose my data.

It should work fine. After kernel or module updates and the grub config is rebuilt, it may recognize Windows and add it to the list without any issues.
