Hello everyone, welcome as a newcomer here. I'm just starting out with this setup and hoping some seasoned members can help clarify my situation. I've configured a 10GbE link in my home lab. My hardware includes:

- HP Z440 Xeon E5-1650 v3 @ 3.52GHz, 32GB RAM (1x Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB)
- Mellanox ConnectX-2 MT26448 10GbE NIC
- Dell Poweredge T410 2x Xeon X5560 @ 2.80GHz (8 cores, 16 logical cores)
- Dell PERC H700 64GB RAM (4x Samsung SSD 860 EVO 4TB in RAID 5)

During a localhost Iperf3 test on the Z440 alone, I see bandwidth stats ranging from 0.00 to over 2.12 Gbps depending on the interval. On the other hand, when testing with the Dell T410, speeds are much lower—around 250MB per test.

I've also reset the Dell adapter and adjusted buffer settings, but the performance remains inconsistent. My main concern is whether the Dell hardware might be outdated for this kind of connection or if there are some misconfigurations I'm missing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Consider using the -p 10 setting in iperf, which might simply cap single-thread performance. Have you applied jumbo packets?

These are the adapter configurations you have set up on your Dell device. It may not directly assist with troubleshooting, but here they are:

- Transmit Control Blocks: 10GbE, 16 NumTcb, LSO enabled
- Receive Completion Method: Adaptive
- Jumbo Packet settings: 9014, buffers sized at 4096
- Send Buffers and Transmit Buffers: both 4096
- NetworkDirect functionality: enabled
- Receive side scaling: enabled
- RSS node defaults: NumaNodeId 65535, queue limit 12
- Polling frequency: 10,000 threads per second
- Rx interrupt moderation: adaptive
- Flow control: enabled
- IPV4 checksum offload: active
- TCP/UDP checksum offload: active
- Priority & VLAN tagging: supported
- VMQ filtering: active
