Powerline Wi-Fi can function effectively if both circuits are connected together. Grounding both sides helps stabilize the connection and improves performance.

As long as the wires are linked, it's fine. I own a line that starts at my office and ends in my bedroom, using separate circuits.

It relies on your home's electrical setup, but with just a single fuse box, it's generally reliable.

Top results will happen by facing the wall and using the same circuit inside the home

Only after connecting them will you understand, unless you also installed the wiring yourself.

From what I have read modern day power line adapters will work on multiple circuits. What matters is A) the quality/age of the wiring, B) The physical distance the signal has to travel, C) Crossing breakers will cause some interference but it should be fine, and C) If you have to cross a phase then your probably going to get lots of interference and it may or may not work. As @kirashi stated above, you really need use the adapters first to figure out how well the will work.
