I can help you with saving your files to your ReadyNAS NAS. Checking if it's possible within the OS or needing extra tools is what I need to find out. Running Windows 8.1 might make it easier. Let me know! P.S. And yeah, I'm back now.

Windows allows you to choose where and which folders to back up, and setting this up on your NAS is definitely worth checking out.

NAS is employed to duplicate the whole storage device, though I wasn't aware of ready NAS options. Running a basic Linux environment configured as NAS works well. FreeNAS stands out as the most widely used and easy-to-use platform.

Do you already have the backup ready, and would you like to use it with both your external drive and a NAS? ReadyNAS is a type of NAS system, so it’s not a regular computer.

With the stock Windows backup tool, you can select your NAS as the storage location and specify exactly which data you wish to back up.

Usually works fine on Windows; it’s been suggested before. If you want something else, I use a tool named Backup (with a V)—it’s very lightweight and easy to use.

It doesn't seem like Windows 8.1 possesses that feature.

Navigate to the top-left area of Windows 8.1. There you’ll find an option for creating a System Image Backup.

You should be able to set this up automatically through the event creation tool or system it uses.
