I have a collection of queries about Qos functionality in ASUS routers. My device is DSL-N12E_C1 and it includes Qos features. I need to understand how these settings function under different configurations. Specifically, I want the service to reduce priority for certain devices individually. For gaming devices, I’d like them to get higher priority on every other port, while lowering priority for downloads and increasing it for surfing on others. The goal is to see how the router handles combinations—like setting MAC addresses as top priority, then assigning specific ports as highest, and adjusting priorities accordingly. Another scenario: if I set a device’s top priority, choose services for that device, and add another service to lower its priority, what happens? Will the lower-priority ports still get high priority on that device, or will they drop back to low? Also, if two rules apply to the same device—one boosting priority and another reducing it—how does the router decide which takes precedence? I want clarity on these behaviors so I can optimize my setup effectively.
