Configuration using two RTX 4090 graphics cards paired with an ASUS Z790 Extreme motherboard.
Build issues arise when both GPUs are connected simultaneously. Functioning correctly with one GPU at a time, regardless of slot or card selection. Excluded motherboard components and GPU slots as potential causes. Experimented with PCI generation changes and NVMe drive removal. Full specifications attached. Assistance would be invaluable.
You can find the information by checking the attached pictures of the BIOS options.
I installed both GPUs but only saw one active in Windows. I suspected a faulty GPU or a bad PCI slot, so I removed one and tried again with each card in its own slot. Both functioned properly individually. Together, they didn’t appear at all.
I attempted this. Now the bios display shows: PXIEX16(G5)_1 Link speed - x0 PCIEX15(G5)_2 Link speed x8
I deleted the NVME entirely. Next, I attempted to boot using only two GPUs. One displayed X0 while the other showed X8.
You might want to reach out to ASUS customer support for assistance. The instructions suggest it should be feasible.
