I own an H100i V2 water cooler and a Phanteks P400 case. I found out that the suggested setup (placing the radiator and fans at the top) won't fit because it will touch the memory cards. Should I stick to the case instructions and put it at the front, or should I think about switching cases or coolers?

This case and the H115i are at the forefront, placed in a push setup. It functions perfectly.
