This approach seems inefficient. Should someone else handle this task? Alternatively, you might attempt XMP with a reduced memory multiplier to slow it down. It's conceivable that 3000MHz isn't stable enough and resets back to 2133 quickly, making it hard to detect or preventing the behavior from being obvious.

That's interesting. I guess I might postpone the decision for now. My mind is a bit overwhelmed. The main goal was just to check if certain games would perform better or faster at 3000MHz compared to 2133MHz. Would it really matter much if we kept it at 2133MHz instead?

Sure thing. I usually don’t play those intense FPS games with top graphics often, but this time it’s different. I mainly need a 3000MHz processor because I often run heavily modified Minecraft and wondered if RAM speed might be the issue. Java tends to use a lot of resources, so I’m keeping things as they are now and planning to get a new M.2 SSD soon. I’ll transfer my 2TB HDD to the SSD and check how the game runs, maybe looking into CPU upgrades later. Updated December 31, 2019 by Xiauj
