Configuration files for boot are experiencing problems.
I previously acquired a modified Acer Predator Orion 3000 model with the CPU and storage removed. After installing the new CPU, everything functioned properly until I attempted to install Windows. During setup, Windows 11 reported that the NVMe device wasn't detected. Trying another port also failed to show detection. I used a SATA SSD pre-installed on Windows but couldn't boot successfully, displaying an Inaccessible_boot_Device error. Checking BIOS revealed the onboard SATA controller uses VMD Control and isn't modifiable. Notably, NVMe appears in the integrated peripherals list, yet it doesn't show up in the boot order. I'm stuck and unsure how to proceed. I'm not very familiar with BCD settings and don’t have a solid boot configuration. Could anyone assist? My system specs include an i5 13400F, Acer RX 4060 graphics, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, and a 500W power supply.
Reset the BIOS and verify UEFI startup or check your motherboard’s BIOS settings to see if the problem gets fixed.
I've tried to flash the bios but it doesn't do anything not sure if I'm doing it incorrectly. I've looked up guides on flashing acer bios but they all do through an executable not through a usb. there is a flash option in bios but it doesn't do anything.
VMD is Intel's Volume Management Device. For NVMe storage it seems to interact with Intel RST (Rapid Storage Technology). If you're experiencing issues, make sure the correct driver is installed during the Windows setup for the NVMe device. I've encountered this problem before when RAID was selected instead of AHCI. It might explain why your pre-installed Windows didn't function properly—because the board required a driver that wasn't present on the SSD.
