For your project, consider what works best for your setup. Placing a switch in each room can simplify cabling and improve management, making it easier to troubleshoot and maintain. However, if you lack experience, keeping the server room as the central hub with UTP cables from there to each room might be more practical. This approach balances control and simplicity while reducing clutter.

With good switches in place, I’d minimize the number of cables needed between rooms.

I need to create it in Cisco Packet Tracer to test various equipment for the network.

Sure, I can help with that. Could you clarify if you need a single server setup or a multi-hop configuration using switches?

I've never encountered such configurations, yet I believe it wouldn't cause a problem. However, I'm open to being incorrect.

Connect the server to several switches. When using multiple NICs, ensure you limit each server to just two NICs. For packet tracing, only assign up to two NICs to a server.

Each room would have its own switch, with multiple units in the server room. The setup would include core network, distribution, and access layer. This configuration isn't ideal.

I understand, this setup is similar to what you've done before, but you're facing issues connecting the switches to the server and router.

You're asking about the issues you're encountering. Could you clarify what specific challenges you're facing?

I was connected to the incorrect router, which prevented access to the network or server. Switching to a different router resolved the issue.
