In fact, it's better to avoid placing lids on their k-series CPUs or to solder the die caps onto them. Link to poll

Silicon Lottery already provides this feature for around $50. Intel has no reason to offer it to you.

Nayrnayr1 also shared that Silicon Lottery provides this feature for around $50, but Intel has no reason to charge that much. It seems the price is too high for what it should already be. You might be able to handle it yourself for free.

Damric also shared this with nayrnayr1. They mentioned that Silicon Lottery already provides this at around $50, which seems expensive for something that should be available for free. It might be possible to do it yourself without cost. They also warned against damaging their CPU and noted that only certain buyers would value a de-lidded Intel K series CPU.

You don’t want to risk damaging your CPU, and only those who really need a delid would pay extra for an Intel K series CPU with a de-lidded design. Intel has already removed the stock cooler from the LGA-1151 K series chips, so no one would want that. I understand what you’re saying, but it’s unlikely to happen. I’m sure a delid could help my i3-6100 @4.5GHz too, maybe someday.

Silicon Lottery already provides this for around $50, but Intel has no reason to offer it again. The price seems excessive for something that should already be available. You could handle it yourself for free. I don’t want to risk damaging my CPU either. Only those who really need a delid would prefer the CPUs without the stock cooler, and Intel has already removed it from the LGA-1151 K series. I understand your frustration, but it’s unlikely this will change. I might consider it someday... maybe. If you want it to happen, please add another person to the poll.

Someone suggested this could be done for around fifty dollars, but Intel wouldn’t bother to do it for free. It seems too expensive for something that should already be handled. You could probably handle it yourself without risking your CPU. The only buyers of an Intel K series CPU would want the chips unmodified, and Intel has already removed the stock cooler from those models. I understand what you’re saying, but it doesn’t seem likely. I’m sure a delid would actually help my i3-6100 @4.5GHz. Maybe I’ll consider it someday. If you want it to happen, please suggest another option on the poll.

Damric shared some thoughts, then nayrnayr1 replied. Damric reiterated the idea, saying Intel has no reason to provide this service for free and that $50 seems excessive. He suggested doing it yourself for free, mentioning concerns about CPU damage and the desire for delid chips. He expressed doubt about the situation improving and offered a 5.2GHz result on his Fx-4300 with a 4+1 board.
