I've been considering a switch to AMD recently, specifically trying the Ryzen 9 in the AM5 socket. I've been using Intel all this time (currently running i9-14900k). The challenge is that DDR5 RAM isn't available in the current market. I've heard AM5 boards support XMP profiles, but I haven't seen any recent MOBO specs confirming this. Is this accurate? I'm searching for a top-tier MOBO and would appreciate any suggestions if XMP compatibility holds up.
Just a note, I'm not referring to dual-channel (EXPO and XMP) configurations—only the standard XMP profile.

You may wish to add the make, model, and SKU to the ram kit for clarity. The outcome hinges on your specific RAM and motherboard BIOS compatibility—it could succeed or fail. It might be wise to experiment with your budget now, especially since a mismatch could lead you into deeper issues if you're considering an AM5 platform change later. Top tier is somewhat subjective; are you aiming to invest around $500 in a motherboard? If not, please share your budget details, location, and preferred site (unless you're based outside the USA).
XMP stands for Intel Ram Profile, Expo is another name for Amd's version, both referring to the same feature when the motherboard supports it. It adjusts the RAM speed to match what you purchased.
I don't think it's a wise move to test right now. Looking at the current RAM market situation. My setup includes this RAM package:
Memoria DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB 2x32GB 6400MHz CL32. However, it doesn't support dual profiles, just XMP maybe.
The main concern is compatibility with that particular profile. I saw on Reddit that some AM5 motherboards work with XMP, but I'm not really convinced. xD

There's a part number on the stickered side of the ram sticks or the back of the ram package. Pass that along and we can verify instead of hovering in doubt.
You should probably be cautious when trying to run its maximum speed, as it appears to be a potential issue. It's unusual to see most of the memory entries (hundreds of kits) marked as XMP instead of EXPO. Only a few kits display both types. My own setup supports both, which suggests the details likely come from the manufacturer's specifications.
