Computer starts taking longer to begin operating?
I constructed this machine in August and have been functioning smoothly until last Friday. Until then, everything worked perfectly. On that Friday, while preparing to shut it down, it began freezing and refusing to load the start menu. Prior to that, I hadn't experienced any problems.
The following day, when attempting to power it on, it displayed a black screen for roughly ten minutes before any action was taken, taking about thirty minutes overall before I could access it. After turning it on, everything functioned normally until yesterday. I recorded several timings and found that booting took around eight minutes, which is significantly longer than the usual under a minute.
Yesterday, a friend assisted in diagnosing the issue. We updated the BIOS and reviewed potential bottlenecks, but during a restart it abruptly halted the OS entirely, leaving only the BIOS menu visible. This morning, the situation persists, though I did observe the VGA light illuminating when the system first started before powering down.
I really need assistance with this! Thank you! Please let me know if additional details are required; I’ll do my best to share them. This is my first attempt at discussing something like this.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I assembled this machine in August.
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide detailed system specifications. Please list them clearly as follows:

So it's just windows that are slow or stopped BOOTing? Time to boot to BIOS is normal ? That leads me to think that windows may be corrupted or disk they are on have developed problems.
When I have to solve problems like that, I usually first attempt to BOOT using a live Linux from a USB or for more options and checks/repair using also portable USB with

Other things to try: Disconnect all drives but one with windows on it because if windows find any failing disk it would fail ro BOOT.
No, the time to start bios isn't typical. It will remain on a dark screen for several minutes, occasionally lasting up to 20 minutes before I can access bios.
Yes, it was much faster then! I restored the drive with only windows enabled and it booted up just as quickly. Probably a different drive than I expected is failing.
I tried putting them back one at a time, but my other SSD still seems to be the problem. It had issues before, which I thought were due to a loose cable—just like last time. Now it's taking a long time to load the BIOS again. I'll have to swap it out and clean up all the files. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your help!
