Hello, I’m looking for assistance with this (likely hardware-related) problem my partner’s PC is experiencing while playing WoW. It’s running an i7-3770 with a GTX 1060 (6GB) and 16GB of RAM, connected to a Thermaltake TR2 600W power supply. I can always share a dxdiag if needed.

Anyway, she has generally managed to play any game smoothly for the past year or so, including more recent titles like Ark, Dark Souls III, Minecraft Bedrock on higher settings, and even Divinity 2 without major issues. However, with WoW, especially during large outdoor battles with many spell effects, the system tends to restart randomly. Not consistently, but often.

I found an error code of 41, which led me to suspect a power supply issue, though I remain cautious since she hasn’t had any problems with other games. The system feels a bit outdated, but since the GTX 1060 was installed it’s been quite stable—maybe too much for the machine? I’m not sure. Apart from this recurring problem.

She has also tried reducing the graphics settings to five or lower, but it still happens. Last night her Nvidia drivers were reinstalled cleanly, and most other components seem up-to-date.
