Computer Lagging screens
Guy's, what will cause a system to I guess you would call it "lag"? I will click on something and no matter what it is it just sits there like 5 seconds or more before it shows the page/link. Here's my stats
.
i7-7700K (overclocked to 4.6. (doesn't matter if I go stock 4.2 or whatever)
ASUS Z270E Strix Gaming motherboard
EVGA GTX-1060 6gb Stock no overclock
32 GB G Skill 2400 memory
EVGA PS 850watt bronze
Corsair h80 cooling
Thanks !!
Windows Startup always indicates issues as it's designed to automatically verify your computer when loading. It 'fails' if no problems are found. This happens when hardware changes disrupt Windows, prompting it to open Startup to correct registry or driver settings and then restart. Don't worry; consider it a safety backup of Windows.
Hard drive issues are appearing. Perform a disk scan using Windows USB/CD or startup repair to ensure Windows doesn’t run. Next, execute sfc /scannow via the admin prompt to retrieve hashes of Windows files and fix any bit rot. If that doesn’t resolve it, check the RAM by running memtest. This strongly suggests data corruption, as the system would likely fail in other areas. Performance metrics like FPS should remain stable, but there may be brief 5-second delays when loading content.

If the problem persists, check the RAM using clock.
It seems this is likely due to data corruption, as the system would fail otherwise. The data corruption appears to be affecting performance—specifically causing sudden 5-second delays during loading.
I ran chdsk, which worked; Windows startup reported an error about a check, possibly indicating locked files or disk issues. I used Malwarebytes, which confirmed everything is okay. This SSD I installed about three years ago, is a M.2 512GB drive. Thank you for your response! Your help means a lot.
Windows Startup always indicates issues when it detects problems during startup. If no problem is found, it fails. This happens because altering hardware that breaks Windows can trigger Startup to attempt fixing registry or driver settings and then restart. You shouldn't be concerned; consider it a safety backup of Windows.

There’s nothing to worry about, I’m here to assist.
The issue isn’t likely due to overvoltage; those fluctuations would trigger blue screens because incorrect CPU results would appear. CPUs need to verify each bit before proceeding, or a power station could be damaged. Our CPUs and industrial CPUs share the same architecture.
A quick idea: if you have another machine with an M2 port, try booting from it. Also, uninstall sound drivers, use DDU to test, then reinstall just to rule out software issues.
DDU performs better than built-in installers. Keep in mind it may remove any AMD catalyst drivers, which is expected. Install GeForce drivers without Experience if you can.
If that doesn’t work…
Execute this three times. Perform all tests with two threads per RAM bank. This will clear any RAM errors.

If successful, your RAM is clean—just one error means the faulty bank needs replacement. Usually you’ll have to test each bank individually until you find the cause.
Once resolved, if it’s still not working in Task Manager, the SSD controller is probably the culprit. It will eventually disappear from your desktop; back up data and replace it. There’s a way to confirm this.
Consider using a pen drive or external hard drive with at least 8GB. Install Windows from there:

and see if it boots normally. If it does, the issue lies with your SSD/SATA cable. If not, the problem is likely with your power supply unit.
Windows startup will consistently indicate issues as it's designed to automatically verify your computer when loading. It considers itself failed if no problems are detected. This happens because altering hardware that conflicts with Windows can trigger automatic startup checks to address misconfigured registry or drivers, followed by a restart. You don't need to worry about this; view it as a safety backup version of Windows for emergencies.
Merged version:
The issue with Fast Computer is it slowing down after some time. I have a high-performance system with an i7-7700K, 32GB GSKill 2400, water cooling, and a 512GB Samsung M.2 SSD. The EVGA GTX-1060 and ASUS Z270E are also connected. After using it for 10 or 15 minutes of browsing, the lag begins to appear. Typing now shows letters appearing one by one with delays. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
