I was working with a vintage board that only had four pins. When my brother assembled his PC, he provided me with an eight-pin CPU cable... It actually included one—just tossed it away.
I purchased this, but some reviews mention it's not rated for over 24 watts. Could you confirm if it will work with my PC? PremiumCord 8-pin male to P4 4-pin female power supply kn-16 https://amzn.eu/d/grhPNtq
The cable could work or it might not, depending on the PSU. If it doesn’t match, there’s a high risk of damage.
It seems the device likely uses more power than it should while idle. The linked item may not be available. I’d recommend reaching out to the PSU manufacturer for a replacement cable. Which model is it? Updated February 20, 2023 by An0maly_76 Added details
It's a seasonic focus 850w gold. I found the cable! Stay tuned
I've connected the 8-pin to the motherboard, but I'm still having trouble accessing my BIOS. When I try to reset by pressing the delete key during boot, the system just crashes and goes black.
I located a configuration in the BIOS to begin with a specific GPU and managed to connect to the BIOS via DisplayPort. Almost at the finish line, I believe. It’s time to figure out why there’s a 10-second delay of full CPU fan speed and no signal during each boot before it finally starts up.
