Hi,
My PC has been becoming slower over the past weeks, such as taking longer to start up and loading programs. It now fails to boot altogether. Pressing the power button displays the MSI motherboard menu where I can access settings. Once there, it transitions to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. It seems the system can’t find the hard drive to boot from. I use Windows on an SSD, and after roughly five minutes the black screen appears with the message: “Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key.” Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: On the MSI interface I pressed F11 to enter boot device mode. I chose the SSD as the boot source and saw a completely black screen with no flashing cursor.

What are the specifications of the system? How recent is the SSD?

Hi,
My Windows 10 PC has an SSD that’s around 7 years old. I don’t recall all the details clearly, sorry. I have a basic understanding of computers. If someone asked for specs, I’d usually check the system once logged in. The MSI motherboard provides some information about the SSD and HDD. Are there any other details you think should be listed?
