Computer blue screen following installation of newest AMD drivers update
Computer blue screen following installation of newest AMD drivers update
Each time I try to install 21.5.2 from AMD, the system freezes and shows a blue screen after restarting. I've checked online resources and found some old articles about Windows updates, but they didn't help. After cleaning everything on my SSD—including all of Windows—I thought it might be resolved. But once I updated the drivers after wiping (since the drivers didn't install properly after setup), the problem returned. I made a restore point before downloading to prevent data loss, but I haven't tried anything else yet.
I'm using a laptop running a Lenovo IdeaPad 330 series and have always had no issues like this. If you know what could be causing this, it would be really useful. Any information about whether AMD or Windows is involved would be amazing.
I just filed a bug report with AMD. Hopefully it won't help much, but I'll share any insights I gain from it here.
Edit 2:
I reviewed the release notes and saw this entry.
It was listed as a known issue on the official release page at the bottom.

I’m still confused about what “Enhanced sign-in” means. I searched AMD settings and Windows, but couldn’t find anything relevant. If you know how to turn this off, please let me know.
Edit 3:
This issue appears to be something AMD should address. I’ll just wait for the next driver update, hoping it gets fixed then. Thanks to anyone who assisted.
