Hey everyone! Recently I've faced the same blue screen issue with my windows for several months. A few months back, my PC suddenly stopped working. After a reboot, I managed to play for a short time before the crashes increased until I couldn't even start Windows without it freezing. I checked for file corruption but found nothing. I tried a fresh install, but it didn’t help.

After some troubleshooting, a friend suggested it might be hardware-related. I used this chance to upgrade—switched to a new graphics card and more RAM. Both installations went smoothly, and I was able to play without issues for a while. Then the PC started overheating, fans didn’t work at full speed, and it kept crashing again. Eventually, I removed the GPU and the problem stopped.

Now I’ve taken out my GPU and haven’t seen any crashes since. Sometimes I see the blue screen again after a restart or boot, but Windows boots fine afterward. I’m not very skilled at fixing things, so it seems my GPU was probably the cause. Even though I bought a lot of hardware recently, the issue still exists. I’m wondering if others have tried similar fixes or have any advice. Thanks for your input!

Current system features RAM and storage specifications, while previous versions had different configurations. Processor speeds and architecture also changed significantly.

Hey there! Here are the details you asked for. Need current specs and what was taken out? Check the BSOD logs—BlueScreenView works great for spotting issues.

It seems like a positive sign that repairs were made. It’s confusing though—what caused the problem? How did you verify the overheating? Did you use the same cooler as before? Generally, the CPU would slow down rather than fail completely, but since the system ran well for weeks and the issue started before it stopped again, it might not be your fault.

Then: Processor: Intel Core i9-14900K, Graphics: Nvidia 4070 TI, RAM: Patriot Viper (2 x 16GB DDR5), Motherboard: ASUS Z790, Cooling: CM MasterLiquid ML360, Power Supply: 850W ATX 80 Plus Gold. Now: Storage setup includes a 2TB WD SSD and a 1TB Kingston SSD. I've experimented with swapping them and removing one at a time. The main issue was installing a new Windows version on the WD drive, which left only the Kingston SSD installed.

Hi, thanks! Here’s a revised version of your notes:

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K
GPU: Nvidia 4070 TI
RAM: Patriot Viper (2 x 16GB DDR5)
Motherboard: ASUS Z790 Cooling
Power Supply: 850W ATX 80 Plus Gold
Storage: 2TB WD SSD, 1TB Kingston SSD
I attempted to replace one SSD and tested different configurations. The main issue was installing a fresh Windows on the WD drive, which left only the Kingston SSD installed. I also looked at minidump files with Windbg but couldn’t identify any problems. I’ll try again tonight after updating my system. Appreciate the advice!

The phrase refers to a configuration setting, likely related to XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform). It asks whether the feature is enabled or if it's turned off during the process.

I'm using the same CPU cooler, a CM MasterLiquid ML360. For the past 3-4 weeks, the fans followed the preset curve correctly. When the crashing resumed, I checked temperatures via the MSI Center app, and my CPU hit around 90°C while the fans didn't speed up as expected. I attempted to make the curve more aggressive to reach 100% sooner, but it still didn't work.

In the MSI BIOS, the XMP profile is active. I haven’t modified it after encountering the problems.

The coolermaster AIOs aren't ideal and handling 14900K is tough. Are you using the pump at full speed? Turning off XMP and letting it run a bit longer might help. The 7200 setting seems high and could cause issues—does your RAM support that speed? Also, what's its CL rating?
