It depends on the processor too. A Ryzen 1600 can't handle RAM speeds of 3600 MHz.

I think you are misunderstanding what @boggy77 is trying to tell you. There are 2 parts to memory compatibility. The Motherboard and the CPU that goes in the Motherboard. If either one doesn't like the memory then it won't work. Have you looked up the memory on the Motherboard compatilibity list? The Ryzen 7 2700X that is listed above has the following specification on the AMD web-site: System Memory System Memory Specification 2933MHz System Memory Type DDR4 Memory Channels 2

At a resolution of 2700x, achieving performance at 3600 would be challenging; success is more likely around 3200, and stability might be expected near 2933.
