I've been looking for a 14-1 pin TPM 1.2 module for my MSI Z87 G45 gaming board. Elden Ring wasn't available on Windows 7, so I'm now having to switch to Windows 10. Since I'm in high school and can't work, upgrading the motherboard and CPU isn't an option. Every 1.2 TPM module I find is a 20-pin. I'm really frustrated. Who designs a motherboard with a 1.2 TPM but no matching socket? The only 14-1 pin ones are the 2.0 models. Could the 5th pin be the -1 instead of the 7th?

In BIOS you cannot directly make the OS assume a TPM exists.

Windows 11 mandates a TPM, but in practice it's not necessary since few systems demand it these days.

It seems Win10 ignores TPM while Win11 relies on it and requires TPM2.0. The headers vary by maker, so modules from nine years ago likely won’t fit anymore.
