Did I purchase the incorrect RAM? Could someone confirm if this RAM is compatible with my i7 6700? I’m seeing the beep codes 1, 3, and 2.

this system uses a ddr4 motherboard, and the components match the specifications. you haven’t repositioned it yet? it’s installed in a standard slot, and there are no additional ram sticks added. i haven’t cleared the cmos, and it looks like the purchase is used. for certainty about the stick’s condition, you might want to test it or check the manufacturer’s documentation.

It won't work. The system uses registered memory, which only operates on server motherboards.

It seems like you're thinking it might have been a simple error on your part.

Search for DDR4 modules with 288 pins, 1.2V operation, no ECC protection, not registered, and unbuffered RAM. Some manufacturers offer compatibility verification on their sites such as Crucial https://www.crucial.com/products/memory/desktop-dram#
