The i7-10700 CPU should work with the new 500 series motherboards, but verify compatibility with your specific system requirements.

It won't work without a last generation board. Sorry, I’m having trouble recalling the chipset changes Intel makes, and those 500 series boards are only compatible with the 12th generation.

No, I'm not referring to the 500 series motherboards such as the Z590.

Confirm your request, as I don't have real-time access to bios updates.

Rocket Lake (11th gen) uses socket 1200 and fits 500-series boards. Alder Lake (Socket 1700/12th gen) needs a different board. The 10th gen works with z590 boards even without BIOS updates. The 11th gen won't run on 400-series boards unless you install a BIOS update first.

Sure, it should work. The 10th and 11th generation Intel CPUs use the LGA1200 socket. In fact, Intel is planning a "mod mondays" stream today in about 45 minutes, so you can reach out directly to them. Many motherboard manufacturers, including EVGA, haven’t released their 500 series boards until Intel launched the 11th generation CPU globally, not just in Europe.
