Compatibility of memory types.
I chose to purchase a 16GB GSKILL Ripjaws V F4-3200C16D-16GVK memory kit from Newegg to pair with another set I already owned. It matches exactly, though the new kit arrived with a faulty stick. Since I’m based in Rio de Janeiro, I can’t return it through RMA. I discovered a similar stick from GSKILL for a reasonable price. My main concern is whether combining a 16GB and an 8GB stick would enable dual-channel operation with my existing kit, filling all four memory slots.
DDR4 offers flexibility by allowing you to combine RAM sticks from various kits. You can likely run with four sticks from four different sets if their timings align well. For a setup like 16GB on one channel and 8GB on another, the first 16GB should function as dual-channel while the remaining 8GB operates in single-channel mode. Linus has even created a video demonstrating this approach—feel free to check it out if you'd like more details. Good luck!
