Hi there, I'm preparing to upgrade my PC and have gone through many reviews and videos to pick the best components. I'm not a big OC enthusiast, but I aim to get the most performance out of my system. That's why I'm considering a Corsair 5000D Airflow paired with an Asus PRIME Z690-A ATX LGA1700 motherboard. However, PC-Partpicker indicates a compatibility warning: "A USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required." My case lists (1x) USB 3.1 Type C and (2x) USB 3.0 for the front panel I/O.
Question 1: Does my '(1x) USB 3.1 Type C' fit the 'USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C Front Panel connector' on my motherboard? I thought Corsair uses old naming conventions, so it should work fine.
Question 2: How many 'USB 3.0 Front I/O Connectors' are available for the 5000D Airflow? Just one or two? I don't have any diagrams or details, so maybe someone who owns the case can clarify. Thanks in advance!
Yes, the USB3.2 Gen 2 Type-C is indeed a newer name for USB3.1 Type-C. For your second point, there is only one Case-USB3.0 Connector available on both Frontpanel USB 3.0 ports.
