Hey there, I’ve got a quick question about my recent purchase. I bought the 5900X CPU and wanted to pair it with a solid memory module, so I chose the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero with Wi-Fi support. But the main issue is with the RAM. I read that AMD’s new CPUs work best with 4000MHz speeds paired with certain RAM configurations. Since my motherboard only has four DIMM slots, I went for a double-stick GSKILL Ripjaws 4000MHz module (link: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/184/1...C18D-16GVK) with two 32GB sticks.

My main concerns are: First, after installing the RAM, I noticed it’s labeled as optimized for Intel processors. Should I be concerned? Will this affect performance or cost? Second, I saw that after installation, my RAM would default to 3200MHz and would need overclocking to reach 4000MHz. Is that accurate? Does it come with an overclock setting out of the box, like Intel’s K-series? I’m not sure if I should worry or if I’ll just have to manage it myself. My main priority is the RAM since it’s the only upgrade I can make right now. Everything else seems fine, so I don’t want to change anything else.

If not, consider adjusting timings and voltages manually or returning the unit for a compatible version. Visit the manufacturer’s site for a QVL (Qualified Vendor List) that confirms compatibility with your board. The processor supports up to 3200MHz by default, and the memory controller can handle higher speeds only if they’re available. Higher frequencies are usually a matter of chance unless you use a quality chip. Generally, RAM isn’t overclocked unless you enable XMP/DOCP or input settings yourself. If problems persist, return for another unit. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on. I've already installed the RAM and started using it. But when I first booted, the BIOS showed it as 2666MHz. After applying the C.O.C.P profile, the system would return to its default settings. Since then, I've only managed to start it twice with the D.O.C.P., but it's very unstable. I changed the memory frequency from 4000MHz to 3800MHz and adjusted the FCLK from 2000 to 1900, but recently while doing 3D simulations, my USB keyboard stopped working. I had to unplug and plug it back in to get it back online. Maybe this is because of a voltage drop? After closing a program, the whole PC would freeze and I had to restart. So, are there any simple guides that could help? I just want to follow the instructions on the box without going beyond what's written. I'm not trying to push the RAM too far. There are many settings in this BIOS, and I'm really unsure how to use them. Also, why did the keyboard issue happen—could it be related to voltage problems? Any advice would be appreciated!
