Compatibility confirmed for MSI H510M-A Pro with RTX 5060 8GB.
I was thinking about upgrading my PC, considering a new GPU, PSU, and NVMe drive. However, I was worried about compatibility and asked if the new RTX 5060 8GB would work with my existing motherboard (MSI H510M-A Pro). I’m on a limited budget and can only spend on the GPU, PSU, and NVMe, not a new motherboard. Should I go ahead?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! As long as your motherboard supports a PCIe3.0x16 slot or better, you should be fine. You may also consider an 11th Gen Intel processor to take full advantage of the PCIe4.0x16 feature on that board. What kind of power supply are you planning to buy? What is the make and model of your case?
Thank you for your response. Your existing motherboard supports PCIe4.0x16 and your CPU is an Intel Core i5-11400. For the power supply, you intend to purchase the Corsair CX650 80 Plus Bronze. The PC case you're considering is the segotep Hyperion Mid-tower.
The PC case is the Segotep Hyperion Mid-tower. This might need reconsideration (re)using it—it doesn’t provide adequate ventilation on the front fascia, turning it into a hot spot for your components. Regarding the PSU, I’m planning to purchase the Corsair CX650 80 Plus Bronze. Here’s the link: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/psu...80...9020278-na? If so, I’d suggest looking into a higher quality unit.
Yes, that's my PC case, I'll look for a replacement. Regarding the PSU, will the MSI MAG A650BN work? This was another choice if the Corsair one isn't good enough.
Im from the Philippines lol, my budget for my PSU is 60-70 dollars and I can no longer squeeze more. PC parts here can get pretty expensive. My preferred site for purchase is this one:

This is one of the most legitimate and trusted PC shop here in our country. This is also where most PC shops around my country order online for their shop's stocks.
Which RTX 5060 model are you evaluating? If you're confident you won't exceed 1080p resolution, it should work fine, but for concurrent AAA games you might want to opt for a 16GB version rather than an 8GB one.
It's important to recognize that the power supply unit is essential to the system's performance. Choosing a well-built unit with sufficient wattage capacity ensures better longevity of the PSU and provides flexibility for future hardware enhancements.
Considering these points, I would evaluate either of these options:

MSI MAG A750GL 750Watts PCIE5 80+ Full Modular Power Supply Gold
I’m confident I’m not exceeding 1080p and higher. The 8GB version is the only one I can afford at the moment. I understand it’s not the preferred choice because of its lower VRAM compared to others, but I have no other option. Another reason is that I don’t play many triple A titles; the only one I’ve played is Helldivers 2. The rest of my games are why the 5060 8GB feels fairly good for me. I just need to enjoy my other titles where my current GTX 1060 with 6GB can still hit 60fps at high settings.
