Hi, your new Aorus B550 Pro AC board is a solid upgrade from your old Tomahawk B450. However, the B550 chipset doesn’t support Zen+ CPUs, which might affect future compatibility. Some users have reported BIOS updates resolving the issue, but it’s not guaranteed. Given the good price you got during a sale and the included case, it’s worth a try unless you’re certain about long-term support.

Even if it doesn’t work, selling the board might be a better option than canceling your order. This B550 model has many I/O ports, so it’s a strong choice. You could also upgrade the CPU to a 5600 or similar for better performance.

The plan was to upgrade the CPU later on at a lower cost rather than replacing the entire motherboard, CPU, and RAM to support the next-gen Ryzen processors. However, because it's a refurbished motherboard, it's unclear whether it will actually function properly.

It works well with a 2600X and also with other models.
