Compatibility check between Kingston/Hyperx Fury and ROG Strix B550-F
Hello, Currently looking to buy a ROG Strix B550-F mobo, as its on sale, with a Ryzen 5 5600X. I can see that there is Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8 gb) on sale as well - but when i look at the mobo QVL-list, i can't find the product number (KF432C16BBAK2/16). The closest thing i can find, is the HyperX Fury, HX432C16PB3K2/16. I remember HyperX being made by Kingston - therefore wondering if its just a naming difference. Will it work anyway, or should i find another pair of ram?
I discovered this in the Vermeer section on QVL, but the list isn’t from the ASUS site. https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/asu...gaming/ram https://pangoly.com/en/review/kingston-f...r4-3200mhz This should be taken with a pinch of caution. I’m not certain it will function smoothly without issues, especially since recently my system would restart or crash when XMP was enabled. My motherboard is Kingston Fury Renegade, and it appears both MSI and Pangoly’s QVL don’t list it. Running at JEDEC speed is likely, but XMP performance is uncertain. I’d recommend checking the QVL for compatibility before buying, or doing thorough research on the RAM and case pairing.
QVL covers only a small part of the picture. Pairing 3600MHz with Zen 3 and B550 should function smoothly, but compatibility issues can arise with newer specs like 5000MHz+. The situation is similar for most setups. Kingston acquired HyperX and repositioned the RAM under their own brand, even though they had been producing it for HyperX before.
