Comparisons of Corsair RGB RAM specifications Differences in performance and compatibility
They list three versions of the pro rgb 3600 cl18 RAM with different timing codes. The first two models claim compatibility with AMD boards, while the third one is noted as potentially problematic. The main differences seem to be in the timing sequence and possibly the die type—B-die versus non-B-die.
CL18 b-die for 16Gig kits seems off. B-die typically works at CL16 with a 3600 setting. I checked the b-die finder on https://benzhaomin.github.io/bdiefinder/, but it didn’t show any Corsair sticks.
the price difference between the top two options is noticeable even though their schedules match. the first option costs more, which makes me think it's worth considering the second one. i just didn't like how the timing felt off for them. i bought a samsung b-die ram with gSkill 2x8 ddr4 3200 cl14 at 3600 16-16-16 1.35 v. the b-die performs really well and i’d definitely recommend it despite the higher price.
I checked all the reviews about the first kit. It's not a clear yes or no because it has enough RAM to potentially lock up and crash if unstable. Still, it performs better than other non-bad kits in terms of overclocking.
Unfortunately, it's Micron, not Samsung. I tried ordering the G Skill Trident Samsung B Die, but it wasn't available. The number 3600 18-19-19-39 works on MSI Tomahawk Max, but I'll check how it performs with the manual setting... soon.
Hey there! Did you get the exact version you were looking for, the CMW16GX4M2C3600C1 8?
The Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro CMW16GX4M2D3600C18 and CMW16GX4M2Z3600C18 both have timing settings of 18-22-22-42. The post compares them and asks which one is better, especially for someone using a Ryzen 7 2700X with a ROG Strix B450-F motherboard. Looking for advice on the best choice. Thanks!
