With the growth of streaming, it’s puzzling why OBS settings aren’t included in modern CPU reviews. Although not every game offers the same performance impact for OBS, it feels odd that there isn’t a clear comparison available. Regarding your main concern: what metrics or benchmarks could show how well streaming would perform? You’d likely want to consider factors like CPU usage levels—whether it stays high, moderate, or even minimal—and compare them to similar tasks.

Typically, employing a hardware encoder on a modern NVIDIA GPU delivers solid performance without straining the system, making it more efficient to leverage the GPU directly rather than relying solely on the CPU. Opting for top-tier presets such as very slow and placebo can actually reduce quality, which isn't ideal for streaming. This setup suits either gaming or streaming—clarify your needs. What codecs are you using?

Generally curious about what affects a CPU's streaming performance. I own two R9 290s and the current GPU prices are quite steep, so upgrading them right now isn't my plan. The Nvec encoder seems impractical at the moment. I might consider moving to an i7-5930K since those CPUs are more affordable, but I'd rather wait until prices stabilize before doing a full upgrade.

Many standards demonstrate CPU video encoding performance. More cores combined with higher clock speeds usually result in quicker encoding. I’ll retain the 5930k since noticeable visual changes are minimal when using a faster CPU.

Absolutely, I understand. However, after nearly seven years, it seems the device is showing its age. On the flip side, there might be a misunderstanding about how two outputs with the same settings are handled by the encoder. I attempted to record and stream simultaneously, but the PC stuttered. Ideally, I’d like the recording to have multiple audio streams for easier editing.
